You guys are absolutely wonderful! Thank you so much for your assistance, and for the above and beyond service. I was definitely not expecting such promptness and efficiency when I first sent out the request for support – very pleasantly surprised!
– Graduate student, Global Health, The George Washington University, Fall 2014
I’ve enjoyed using Mobius SLIP this semester. I think that it has helped me to stay continuously engaged with the material.
– Undergraduate student, Psychology, UNCG, Fall 2014
I found the dynamics in this class better than most of my other classes. Mobius SLIP is excellent in helping people develop feedback and understand how others are taking their feedback. While I think this system should be incorporated in any class where there is a group component (to provide critical feedback for group dynamics), I think this would be a very useful system to have in the initial MBA class everyone has to take.
– MBA Student, Leadership, University of Calgary, Spring 2013
I enjoy completing the Mobius SLIP assignments because they allow me to see how my peers went about the assignment, since everyone has their own opinions and views. It has also been beneficial to me to get their feedback on my work.
– Undergraduate student, Business Communications, UNCG, Fall 2012
Mobius SLIP is a user friendly system that allows peers to review each other’s papers and give feedback. I enjoyed working with this system because I was able to see how my peers wrote papers and their critiques helped me to improve in my writing abilities.
– Graduate student, Health Informatics, UNCG, Spring 2012
Mobius SLIP is a great way to involve students in an anonymous review format. With this type of system, you the student become the professor, well in the fact that you can assess your peer’s assignments. This assessment type allows the student to grow and take on additional responsibility in the classroom.
– Graduate student, Health Informatics, UNCG, Spring 2012
This experience allowed me to go from just a student to someone who had the responsibility of critiquing and responding to peers’ critiques. There is a saying in nursing when you are learning a new skill that you watch one, do one, and teach one. This way of learning a new skill in nursing is very similar to learning in Mobius SLIP.
– Graduate student, Health Informatics, UNCG, Spring 2012
Mobius SLIP is a unique educational experience. The nature of online classes makes teamwork difficult, but I feel that Mobius SLIP is a creative solution, allowing more focused collaboration without the communication and scheduling conflicts that plague online courses. Each assignment is submitted anonymously and is randomly distributed to several classmates, so each essay is read and assessed by multiple people. This provides an excellently well-rounded evaluation of our work without having every student read all of the submissions for each assignment. I would have loved to have the opportunity to use a system like this in more of my classes, especially ones with frequent but relatively short writing assignments.
– Graduate student, Health Informatics, UNCG, Spring 2012
I think Mobius SLIP was fun. Since several persons were going to read my work, I tried hard to put my best work in my assignments. It was interesting to read the perceptions of others about my work. Since we did not know the identity of the reviewers, it allowed some freedom to offer honest and constructive comments. The system gave students the opportunity to see the level of work of others which as an aid in working on future assignments.
– Graduate student, Health Informatics, UNCG, Spring 2012
As a learning tool, I think Mobius SLIP is fantastic. In addition to getting feedback from people who don’t already have all of the answers, you get that many different responses from which to re-think and edit your work. I also think that Mobius SLIP is great for learning because it allows you to view how other people understand the assignment, and because the assignments are similar in format, this makes it easier to see what works and what doesn’t in terms of style and detail.
– Graduate student, Health Informatics, UNCG, Spring 2012
It’s simple, efficient, and easy to use. Better than just receiving feedback from a professor, you receive feedback from other students and professionals, whose opinions are just as valid in terms of content and what may be important to future viewers of your documents. In my opinion, the use of Mobius SLIP has had a beneficial impact on my learning compared to usual grading and feedback procedures.
– Graduate student, Health Informatics, UNCG, Spring 2012
At first, Mobius SLIP seemed like an easy approach for a professor to work less! Obviously that was a short site on my behalf, as now I realized how he was able to link decision making to healthcare learning. Connecting students together and empowering them with a professor’s ability through Mobius SLIP has had a great influence on the success of this course as it affected my learning, grading and the way I analyze my decision approach. Especially, when I started receiving similar feedback from my peers.

What makes this tool unique is simplicity. It allows an easy flow of learning. It combiness three different layers of the learning curve – creating, reviewing, and critiquing. Reviewing several different essays helps develop alternative thinking and analysis. I was able to build my personal understanding, reshaped the way I perceived a theory and altered my approach to making decisions or conclusions. Receiving reviews from my peers challenged my critical thinking. Particularly, it challenged how I approached giving effective positive feedback to others. At first my response was blunt and direct. Although it was frank, it was not effective as it only made my peers stand on the defensive line. But as with everything, I learned from my mistakes and witnessed a tone change when my peers read my critiques.
– Graduate student, Health Informatics, UNCG, Spring 2012
I believe that Mobius SLIP has had a direct influence on my success. It provided a different and very beneficial learning approach, especially helpful in an online course. It engaged the students in a debate that led to new ideas.
– Graduate student, Health Informatics, UNCG, Spring 2012
Mobius SLIP provides an interactive learning and grading experience, especially for online courses. It engages students in evaluation of their peers. The system prepares the students to be critical reviewers of other’s work, by ranking the effectiveness of the papers amongst the peers, and providing critiques. This helps students to not only become leaders in writing, but also leaders in reviewing the work of others. Mobius SLIP enables professors to manage the homework capabilities rather well and assist them with their grading in a balanced manner. As an adjunct professor, I certainly see the value in using Mobius SLIP, and may implement it in the upcoming months.
