Mobius SLIP Student User Guide

Welcome to Mobius SLIPTM!

Your instructor is using this Social Learning Information Platform for the completion of some assignments this semester, and you may have some questions about the software. This guide is designed to answer those questions and give you a better understanding of what to do. It also explains the reasoning behind what you are doing.

At first, Mobius SLIP might seem a little different to you, and quite frankly, that is because it is different from traditional learning tools in many ways. What makes it different though? Well, learning for the most part seems to be a pipeline from the instructor to the student, and back from the student to the instructor via assignments, that the instructor grades. Mobius SLIP adds another dimension – peer review – to facilitate the exchange of ideas between peers, much like in the workforce where peers review proposals, documents, letters, memos, etc. before those are submitted. Mobius SLIP provides a safe environment for the exchange of ideas and feedback to help you improve your work and develop this invaluable review skill.

If you’re still scratching your head about why peer review is important, then please read the Deliverables section. Even if you think you have a firm grasp, please review the section as it will help establish a foundation for submitting the tasks that your instructor assigns, and will help you get the most out of using Mobius SLIP.
