In business strategy classes, students always want to talk about the latest and greatest companies – except Apple, which has been done to death.
In my class, I use mini-cases drawn from The Wall Street Journal. I use their great list serve which will show you mini cases without you having to really search for them.
Mobius SLIP allows me to give every group a different case to analyze. Students tend to like this activity more because once in class they have more to discuss. Students are also able to hear and discuss different peers perspectives on several cases. Students will be more interested in what their peers take on the subject due to the Peer-to-Peer aspect.
As a professor your experience is better because students are more involved in discussions. The weight of having to grade every assignment is lightened as well because it is a Peer-to-Peer evaluation.
